Gloria Shaffer Melendez is a professor of Latin-American literature at Brigham Young University. She has published translations in both English and Spanish and has done translations of pre-columbian Nahuatl literature. Her research with Latin American modernist writers led her to the discovery of the rich fantastic prose of Amado Nervo and has provided the basis for many articles on this subject.
